Who we’re looking for:
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with experience in designing and implementing cybersecurity services in a cloud environment, specifically within the federal market. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have a strong background in project development, incident response, and project monitoring using various tools like Elasticsearch, Splunk, and CloudWatch.
Responsibilities for this position are:
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Creating and delivering presentations and demos to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Engaging with leadership and government clientele on project development using Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborating with tenants to understand their requirements and working with a multi-tenant platform.
- Understanding data transit between APIs, data normalization and cleansing concepts, and networking and software implications.
- Implementing ephemeral software concepts and tooling, including Docker, ECS/EKS, and Fargate.
- Navigating AWS cloud environments and utilizing different offerings.
- Automating build requisite infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Managing configurations using tools such as Ansible and Chef, and version control systems like Gitlab, Github, and Bitbucket.
- Leveraging scripting languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, JSON, and YAML to interface a variety of tooling.
- Designing, implementing, and delivering containerized services using the Docker toolset, troubleshooting failure modes, and resolving system/architectural issues.
- Hardening both Windows and Linux operating systems by implementing STiGs and other security requirement guides.
- Creating and maintaining custom Amazon AMIs that incorporate DoD STIG requirements.
- Integrating multiple software products across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Closely coordinating and communicating with the team as well as sponsors for effort.
- Briefing and engaging directly with sponsors and their supporting staff regarding technical support work and architecture design of cloud environments.
What you need to know:
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience with project development, incident response, and project monitoring using various tools like Elasticsearch, Splunk, and CloudWatch
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices
- Familiarity with AWS cloud environments and different offerings
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Chef, and version control systems like Gitlab, Github, and Bitbucket
- Strong scripting skills using languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, JSON, and YAML
- Understanding of STiGs and other security requirement guides to harden both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience creating and maintaining custom Amazon AMIs that incorporate DoD STIG requirements
- Knowledge of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in cloud environments, including network firewalls, access control lists, encryption, auditing and monitoring, and compliance scanning
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and other security frameworks is beneficial
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience highly desired
5-7 years applicable professional experience
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government clearance
