As an Information Security Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing security solutions for our clients. You’ll work closely with our cybersecurity analysts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, and you’ll develop strategies to mitigate them.

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team in the public sector. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth, development, and culture of a rapidly expanding cybersecurity firm. As an Information Security Engineer, you will be exposed to all aspects of Cybersecurity Risk Management and encouraged to grow as the organization expands.
Responsibilities for this position are:
In this role, you will provide information security expertise to system development teams, manage the overall cybersecurity of the ICAM Solution, and ensure identified security vulnerabilities, policy, and mandate deviations are documented, reported, tracked, and remediated on a POA&M. You will follow guidance from the Department’s Common Controls Catalog and the current version of NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-63, review information system documentation and the information system itself at least monthly, update documentation for the information system in the selected central cybersecurity repository, capture system weaknesses in the POA&Ms, and ensure security plans and authorization documentation for provided systems, services, and networks are developed and kept current.
What you need to know:
The ideal candidate should have experience with cybersecurity repository tools (CSAM, Xacta, etc.), Authority to Operate (ATO) process, continuous monitoring, POA&Ms, Security Authorizations (SA), NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53 Rev3/Rev4, and working with System Owners (SO). Additionally, understanding of FISMA compliance is required
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience highly desired
5-7 years applicable professional experience
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government clearance
