Company · How We Deliver

From Strategy to Sustainable Capability.

An eight-step methodology, seven engagement models and one commitment: capability built to last and transferred to your teams.

Executive Summary

  • 01Effective delivery begins with legal and regulatory obligations, then measures current posture against recognized frameworks to produce a prioritized, evidence-based plan.
  • 02Controls count only when integration testing proves that detection, escalation and audit evidence all work before go-live, not after the first incident.
  • 03Choose an engagement model by asking who will ultimately own the capability and how the handover will be measured.

Delivery Methodology

Eight Steps Across Guide, Secure and Operate.

From strategy to sustained institutional capability. Every stage produces documented, auditable deliverables.

Engagement Models

Seven Ways to Work with DAAKYI.

  • Advisory Engagements

Fixed-scope assessments, strategy, compliance and testing.

Best for · Defined questions with a clear deliverable

  • Managed Security Services

SOC, MXDR and managed cloud security under SLAs.

Best for · 24/7 coverage without building in-house

  • Project Implementation

Design and deployment of security technologies.

Best for · Modernization and transformation

  • Build‑Operate‑Transfer

DAAKYI builds and runs the capability, then transfers it.

Best for · National and sector SOCs seeking ownership

  • Virtual CISO

Senior security leadership on a retained basis.

Best for · Organizations without a full-time CISO

  • Capability Development

    Training, certification and mentoring programs.

Best for · Regulators and operators growing talent

  • Long‑Term Operations

    Multi-year operations and continuous improvement.

Best for · Critical systems needing sustained assurance

Perspective

The Context Behind Our Approach

Discovery Defines Every Later Decision

Delivery starts with obligations, not tools. Which laws apply to the systems in scope? In Ghana, the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038) covers critical information infrastructure and incident reporting, while the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) governs registered data controllers. GDPR adds a 72-hour breach notification expectation where feasible. Discovery records these duties, names asset owners and agrees measurable success criteria. Without that baseline, later testing has nothing to be tested against and acceptance becomes a matter of opinion.

Assess Posture Against Recognized Frameworks

A posture assessment converts opinion into a comparable score. NIST CSF 2.0 organizes outcomes into six functions: Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recover. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Annex A contains 93 controls across organizational, people, physical and technological themes. CIS Controls v8 helps prioritize technical safeguards. A good assessment shows current and target maturity per function, ties each gap to a business risk, and ranks remediation by effort and exposure rather than by vendor preference.

Validate Controls Before Go‑Live

Deployed is not the same as working. Integration testing checks that log sources reach the monitoring platform, that detections fire and that alerts route to the right people. Teams often map detections to the 14 tactics in MITRE ATT&CK Enterprise to expose blind spots, then tune noisy rules before production. Response procedures should follow NIST SP 800-61 incident handling, with rehearsed escalation paths. Acceptance evidence, including test results and approved exceptions, becomes part of the audit record.

Match the Model to Ownership Goals

The right engagement model depends on who must own the capability in the end. Fixed-scope advisory suits a defined question. Managed services suit organizations that need continuous coverage now. Build-operate-transfer suits a national or sector operations center that will eventually run itself. Ask each provider how handover is measured: documented runbooks, trained analysts, tested escalation and a dated transfer of accountability. If a model has no exit criteria, dependency is the likely result.

Security you have not tested against realistic adversary behavior is not a control. It is an assumption waiting to fail.

Glossary

Key Terms

Posture Assessment
A structured measurement of current security maturity and control gaps against a chosen framework, used to prioritize remediation.
